  Oh my. Bridal Elegance is a bridal department store GONE BAD. Though I only spent about 20 minutes searching for bridesmaids dresses here, I have come up with three urgent reasons why you should take your business elsewhere. 1. The service. I think the other reviews cover this one better than I, but to reiterate, the service was poor to say the least. We were silently stalked by a consultant that appeared to be pulling dresses for us but really just browsed like she was shopping for the first time herself! 2. The dresses. Yikes! I was looking for tasteful, fashionable bridesmaids dresses. Maybe a floral and flowy floor-length dress? Or perhaps the very popular off-the-shoulder gowns? Instead, we were met with gaudy and completely drab dresses. I truly tried to picture my bridesmaids in these dresses but couldn't even imagine it. **Note: I think some of the dresses have potential but are displayed terribly. So if you are up to hunting on your own for a couple hours, it might be worth a shot. 3. The overall experience. How does this place stay in business? Maybe it was the place to go back in its heyday? Or maybe the massive supersized store is a draw? Overall, the dresses here are out-dated and very overpriced for what they are, the service is bad, and the building is just plain icky. So what are your options? If you prefer to stay local, Marien Mae in LaSalle is awesome! I bought my wedding dress there. Also, a trip to the suburbs would be totally worth your time.   Drove almost 2 hours yesterday with 7 other women to find the wedding dress of my 33 year old, never married before daughter's dream. We met our Bridal Elegance consultant, Samantha and for the next two hours as she assisted us she was professional, amazing, helpful, patient, and so very personal and friendly. She made our experience in choosing THE DRESS so fun and stress free. If I could give her ten stars, I would! So appreciate great service. Thank you so very very much Samantha.
